Long term objectives
The electronic organisation of involved agricultural schools and organisations according to European models and the experience of the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania, constituent Institution of the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (I.C.A.M.A.S. – CIHEAM), dependent from the Ministry of Rural Growth and Foods of Greece, in a way, that it constitutes a pilot example for the development of other agricultural schools in Egypt and core of networking and diffusion of digital applications in the rural sector to countries of the arabic world, affable in Egypt.
The realization of research and the development of projects/ applications on issues related with Agriculture and Environmental Management in the Mediterranean region with the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing, as administrative tools for the confrontation of vital issues, as water irrigation management, the undersetification of soil, the early diagnosis and monitoring of agricultural diseases and precision agriculture.
The creation of a network of research institutions and other governmental bodies informed and familiarized with the applications of modern geoinformatic technology in the agricultural sector, between South European Mediterranean countries and Arabic states.
